About oxforddickie

A comfirmed Quadraholic i believed that the textbooks were wrong and near discrete decoding of the SQ & QS matrix systems was possiblke... and i've proven it in the 'Mythical' decoding process's.

  1. I enjoy this music, but I would hazard a guess as to why CBS chose not to label it Quad. The soundfield of the Concerto is surround but the imaging to my ear is not very detailed. The extras on the disk seem to be recorded to quad in a strange way. In fact “Africa” seems to have most of the orchestra in the rear speakers. I would imagine that if this were issued as a compatible stereo/quad the purists would howl that the the imaging was “phasey.

Despite my misgivings, I really enjoyed this music.

Does anyone else have observations about this recording?
